Lagos by-election: CP says all calm so far

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, says he is satisfied with the security situation in the areas he has so far visited in the Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency.

Voters in the area are casting their ballots in a by-election to pick their representative in the House of Representatives following the death of Mr Elijah Adewale, who formerly represented them.

Adewale died in Abuja on July 20.

Owoseni disclosed that having visited 90 per cent of the election area, he was happy that all was calm.

The commissioner, who spoke a few minutes before 1.00p.m, said that everything was going on well.

The police had deployed thousands of its men to ensure security during the election.
