ADAMAWA STATES: Nuhu Ribadu, governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa, has withdrawn from the race.
The pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says the APC in the state did not agree to a direct primary election demanded by aspirants.
“While we and the greater majority of APC family in Adamawa state supported giving power to the people through direct primaries, the party decided to adopt indirect primaries at the last minute,”
ABE WINS RIVERS APC FACTION PRIMARY
Magnus Abe has won the governorship primary conducted by a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers.
Abe won the direct primary with 144,929 votes while Dumo Lulu-Briggs, came a distant second, polling 3,444 votes.
At the primary conducted by the “recognized” faction of Rivers APC, the exercise is still ongoing. Tonye Cole is leading with more than 600 votes in the Rivers APC primary organised by the Amaechi faction
Rotimi Amaechi has dismissed the parallel primary being conducted by the Magnus Abe faction. He said “they are on their own” because the APC national working committee only recognizes his faction.
APC EXPELS KWARA FACTION LED BY BALOGUN-FULANI
The national working committee of the APC has expelled the Kwara state executive of the party led by Ishola Balogun-Fulani. Yekini Nabena, acting APC spokesman, made this known in a statement on Sunday.
IN NIGER STATE: Niger APC has endorsed governor Abubakar Bello as the party’s flag bearer for the 2019 governorship election.
EL-RUFAI WINS KADUNA APC TICKET

The governor is speaking of his achievements since he was elected in 2015, especially in the education and health sectors.
IN OYO: Three aspirants have withdrawn from the APC primary election. The three aspirants out of the Oyo APC guber race are Olasunkanmi Joseph Tegbe, Owolabi Babalola, and Olusola Ayandele. They now join Azeez Adeduntan and Christopher Alao-Akala, who had earlier pulled out.

APC POSTPONES ABIA GUBER PRIMARY
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia has postponed its governorship primary earlier scheduled for September 30 till October 1.
In Plateau: APC delegates have affirmed governor Simon Lalong as the party’s flag bearer to contest in the 2019 governorship poll.
In Kano: Collation of results for the APC primary is ongoing at the state headquarters of the party. Shehu Maigari, APC state deputy chairman, said: “So far the results of governorship primary election from more than half of the total number of local government areas have been collated.”
