Super Eagles Confident Of Getting The Job Done Against Argentina • Channels Television

The Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, is optimistic that Nigeria will get the result needed to qualify for the knockout phase of the World Cup.

“We are not here to watch Messi play. We are here to make a result. We are professionals, we have to defend the colours of Nigeria,” Rohr said at a press conference in St Petersburg, Russia.

The German coach is, however, aware that Tuesday’s game would be a tough one.

This is because Nigeria require a win or a draw to progress. Victory against Lionel Messi-led Argentina who have struggled in Russia, picking just one point from their first two games would guarantee Nigeria a place in the last 16 regardless of the outcome of Croatia’s clash with Iceland.

Should the Super Eagles play a draw against Argentina, they would need Croatia to defeat or play out a draw with Iceland for them to progress.
