One person has been reportedly killed following a flood disaster in Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State.
The downpour, which is said to have started at about 4:00 p.m and lasted for four hours on Friday evening, destroyed several houses.
Eyewitnesses told Channels Television that over 100 shops were also destroyed by windstorm within the area.
The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is said to be working round the clock to provide temporary shelter to the affected victims.
Many of the residents who have been rendered homeless as a result of the flood are calling on the government to come to their aid.
