Femi Adesina Akin Oshuntokun

The Presidency has rejected the claim by a chieftain of the Coalition for Nigeria Movement, Akin Oshuntokun, that a bomb attack in Maiduguri, Borno State, killed 88 people on Tuesday.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, described the claim as a lie “of the most heinous kind” in a statement on Thursday.

Contrary to the claim, Adesina said, “Sallah Day (Tuesday) had passed quietly and peacefully, without even a firecracker going off, let alone bomb blast.

“That was contrary to what used to happen before the advent of the Buhari administration, when such festivals were turned to orgy of killings in many parts of the country by insurgents.”
