The organizers of the annual Nigeria Pitch Awards on Friday commiserated with the players, families, officials and fans of the Chapecoense FC of Brazil over the death of their players and coaching staff in a plane crash on Monday in the mountains of Medellin, Colombia.
Shina Philips, CEO of Matchmakers Consult Limited, organisers of the awards, sympathized with the global football family on “this irreparable loss of football talents”. He described the tragedy as a very sad one that will continue to haunt the entire football fraternity of Brazil and the world at large.
