Real Madrid's Keylor Navas wins UEFA best goalkeeper award

Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Keylor Navas has won the UEFA best goalkeeper award.

The Costa Rican was instrumental between the sticks as Real Madrid won their their consecutive Champions League. Navas featured in all but two games for Real Madrid in the Champions League last season. He kept two clean sheets and conceded 13 goals in the 11 games he played.

Navas, 31, currently faces competition from Thibaut Courtois who joined the Julen Lopetegui’s side from Chelsea. He has started both of Real Madrid’s games in the La Liga keeping clean sheets in both games. Lopetegui has hinted at rotating between Navas and Courtois for the domestic games and the Champions League.

Real Madrid team-mates Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric picked up the award for the best defender and midfielder respectively…
