‘It Is Not True’
An Imo-based group, Imo People’s Action for Democracy (IPAD), has accused the Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, of approving the sale of property belonging to the state government.
But the state government has debunked the allegation, saying that its accusers were into imaginary accusations ranging from withdrawing N17 billion to selling and carting away of property of the state.A statement by Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, had, last week, dismissed the allegations.
Statement signed yesterday by the officials of the IPAD, Aku Obidinma (coordinator) and Chibundu Uchegbu (secretary) reads: “Our attention has been drawn to the above captioned development where Imo properties are now being hurriedly stolen in the guise of auctioning and other forms of illegal purchase, and we wish to use this medium to alert Imolites and also condemn this criminal act.
