A Catch Up Of Events For Previous Week

This week has seen a lot of events happen to continue to shape our daily living. Deaths, jail term, YouTube ban among others are some of the events that shaped this past week. Here is a rundown of the week.

No Hate Allowed
Popular Nigerian evangelical preacher, TB Joshua, has called on his followers to “pray for YouTube” after the platform blocked his channel over allegations of hate speech against LGBTQ people. YouTube closed the pastor’s channel with more than 1.8 million subscribers and 600 million views.

During last Sunday’s service on Facebook, T.B Joshua said: “I want you to help me pray for YouTube.” He further said that he had appealed YouTube’s decision. He wrote on Facebook: “We strongly oppose all forms of hate speech. We have had a long and fruitful relationship with YouTube and believe this decision was made in haste.”
