Again, Blinken meets Tuggar, pledges stronger U.S., Nigeria ties | The Guardian Nigeria News


 Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, on Friday again met with the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, in Washington D.C.

This is the second meeting of the two government officials this year. Blinken had earlier in January held bilateral talks in Abuja during the former’s visit to Nigeria and meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement yesterday by the Secretary’s spokesperson, Matthew Miller, Blinken thanked Tuggar for hosting the sixth U.S.-Nigeria Bi-national Commission in Abuja in April, demonstrating the importance of the bilateral partnership to advance shared priorities.

“The Secretary underscored the United States’ commitment to a strong relationship with Nigeria focused on solving economic, governance, and security challenges that impact both nations,” he stated.
