Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State on Friday joined his Northwest counterparts on advocacy meeting with the officials of United Nations (UN) in Abuja.
Those at the meeting alongside Yusuf were Governors of Kaduna, Uba Sani; Katsina, Ummaru Dikko Radda; Jigawa, Mohammad Namadi; Zamfara, Dauda Lawan Dare; and the deputy governor of Sokoto State who represented the governor.
The governors’ meeting with the UN officials was compelled by unfolding developmental challenges bedeviling the states within the region and the urgent need to solicit for international interventions in the region across critical areas of the economy.
A statement by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, spokesperson to Kano governor, explained that governors in the region pushed for development agenda for the Northwest.
