The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has urged residents to remain calm and resist any temptation that could provoke unrest in the ancient city.
Emir Sanusi made the appeal on Friday evening while reacting to the verdict of the Court of Appeal regarding the validity of his appointment as the 16th Emir of Kano.
The three-member panel of justices of the appellate court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in their judgment, set aside the lower court ruling that had nullified Sanusi’s reinstatement.
Previously, Justice Abdullahi Liman of the Federal High Court, Kano division, ruled in favor of Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, in a fundamental rights application brought by Aminu Babba Dan’Agundi against Sanusi.
