Eaglets Will Overcome Netherlands, But It Won’t Come Easy


Ike Shorunmu has told Completesports.com that he has strong conviction Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have the potential to ride on the back of Netherlands to the quarter finals of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup, Brazil 2019, but says victory in tomorrow’s clash at Estadio Olimpico in Goiania won’t be fetched on a plater.

The Eaglets finished top of Group B standings, with six points and plus one goal while Netherlands finished third in Group D behind Japan and Senegal, and were rewarded with a Round of 16 berth as one of the best third-placed teams.

And as Tuesday’s clash beckons, Shorunmu says Eaglets have what it takes overpower their European foes but warns that the Dutch side won’t go down without a fight.
