Balogun Helps Wigan Athletic Bag Historic Win Vs Hull;


Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun returned to Wigan Athletic starting eleven and helped them make history in their 8-0 thrashing of visiting Hull City in the Championship on Tuesday night, reports.

It was Wigan’s biggest league win in their history and also they are the first team to score eight plus goals at home in a single match in the English second tier since Manchester City in November 1987 (10-1 against Huddersfield). 

Balogun who recovered from injury and returned to action for the Latics, was replaced with 12 minutes left in the encounter.

The win saw Wigan climb to 13th position on 57 points while Hull are in the relegation zone in 22nd spot on 45 points in the league table.
