Legendary Manchester United skipper Roy Keane refused to send congratulatory message to Joe Aribo, Leon Balogun and their Rangers teammates after they won their first Scottish Premiership title in ten years on Sunday.

Aribo and Balogun were crowned champions as a result of Celtic being held to a 0-0 draw at Dundee United.

Ahead of the Manchester derby later in the day, Keane who was in the Sky studios was asked whether he had any words of celebration for Rangers, he simply replied: “For Rangers? No.

“Obviously it’s been a tough year for Celtic but they’ll bounce back next year like all great clubs do.”

Celtic were Keane’s boyhood club and he played for them in the final months of his career in 2005/06 and so made no secret of where his loyalties lie in the Old Firm debate.

Rangers put themselves on the brink of being crowned champions with a comfortable 3-0 victory over St Mirren on Saturday.

This left them 21 points clear of Celtic who needed to win to stave off…
