Anfield will be buzzing this afternoon as Liverpool hope to maintain their unbeaten run in the Premier League when they host reigning champions, Manchester City on Sunday.

The two powerhouses currently occupy first and second in the Premier League table after six matches, with Jurgen Klopp’s side one point above their title rivals at the summit.

After a thrilling 3-3 draw against Brentford last weekend, the Reds bounced back to winning ways with a 5-1 rout over FC Porto in the Champions League and will be keen on building against City.

Liverpool manager Klopp has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will not be ready to feature in this crunch clash, with the right-back joining Harvey Elliott and Thiago Alcantara on the sidelines.

Manchester City, meanwhile, are currently sixth in the league table, three points below Chelsea, with a win by a decent margin on Sunday likely to take them to the top.
