The Governor of Niger State Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Sani Bello has impose a dusk to dawn curfew over the spate of the coronavirus pandemic across the world.
In a special broadcast on Monday, the governor ordered all civil servants on grade level 1-12 to stay at home, while also announcing the shutting down of public and private schools and tertiary institutions in the State. All public gatherings of more than 20 persons are also prohibited
Governor Bello said “We have reactivated our Isolation Centre at General Hospital, Minna and isolation rooms in all our General Hospitals across the state. We have prepositioned drugs, medical supplies and personal protection equipment at the Isolation Centre in Minna.” While urging all Nigerlites to adhere strictly to personal hygiene, social distancing and seek medical attention in the event of coronavirus symptoms, the governor also announces a total ban on all forms of street hawking and begging.
