The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has granted bail to the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, Saturday PUNCH has learnt.
Our correspondent was informed by senior officials at the EFCC that the former SGF’s passport was confiscated as a condition for his bail.
A senior EFCC official said, “Babachir Lawal, was granted bail on Friday night. He surrendered his passport to the commission and he was asked to return at a later day for more interrogation.”
The anti-graft agency had arrested Lawal on Wednesday, less than three months after he was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly awarding contracts to his firm and his cronies.
