Following the Friday’s judgment of the Supreme Court validating the charges involving alleged N11bn fraud against him and three others, a former Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, said on Sunday that he was ready for “a fair trial.”
According to a statement by his media aide, Olawale Oluwabusola, the former governor said he had never been opposed to fair prosecution, but his grouse had been against ‘trial by ambush’ which he said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission allegedly adopted.
The former governor said he welcomed the judgment of the apex court directing the EFCC to provide the necessary documents with which to prepare for his defence.
