A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Dr Ayobami Lam-Adesina, said the Federal Government had yet to take pro-active steps to address the frequent killings by herdsmen in some parts of Nigeria.
Lam-Adesina, in an interview with our correspondent on Saturday, also warned that the FG proposal to establish cattle colonies in states could cause a division in the APC and destroy the party.
The son of a former governor of the state, the late Lam Adesina, further noted that killings by herdsmen and tussle over land could lead to an ethnic problem in Nigeria.
According to him, many APC governors had opposed FG’s handling of the situation, stressing that already, there was a division in the party that would keep widening unless the Presidency took the right measures.
