Joe Dudun’s description of the Lekki Conservation Centre is so arresting that anyone that reads his book, Beautiful Places, will want to visit the centre the next moment to experience what he describes as “one of the world’s longest highest canopy walkways.”

He also uncovers the beauty many have failed to see in Idumota, “the renowned sprawling urban market with a significant impact on the economies of several African countries less than two kilometres from the vast Atlantic Ocean.”

He even finds beauty in popular places in Lagos, like Oshodi.

Although Joe Dudun’s Beautiful Places highlights the rich attractions of Lagos, it is not a tourism handbook. It is a novel simply set in Lagos.

Described by the author as a ‘Novella Readers Series’,  Beautiful Places tells the story, of what happened in just one day in Lagos; but the story is laced with flashes…
