Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State says his administration has earmarked the sum of N100m to build a befitting Labour House for the organised labour in the state.
The governor made the promise during a public lecture organised in Yenagoa by the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress as part of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the workers’ union in the country.
The theme of the anniversary, ‘Nigeria Labour Congress: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’, was delivered by Prof. Benjamin Okaba of the Federal University, Otuoke.
The first elected NLC Chairman in the state, Felix Odubo, delivered another topic, ‘The Role of NLC in the Development of Bayelsa State’.
