Patience Jonathan’s property under probe is not demolished – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has debunked the claim by the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, that her Abuja property which the commission was seeking to seize had been demolished.

EFCC denied the former First Lady’s claim in its counter-affidavit filed before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The counter-affidavit was filed in response to the demolition claim made by Jonathan’s lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), during the January 22, 2018 proceedings.

Following Ozekhome’s claim, the judge had ordered an inquiry into the issue and fixed Monday for report of the said investigation.

The EFCC had filed an ex-parte application before the court for temporary forfeiture of the property,

The property located at Plot 1758, Cadastral Zone A00 Central Business District, Abuja is owned by Aruwabai Aruera…
