Group commends Ambode, lawmakers for Yoruba preservation law

A foremost social club in Lagos, Eko Club, has commended the Lagos State lawmakers and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for the Lagos State Yoruba Language Protection and Preservation Law.

The club also said it was impressed by the infrastructural renewal and developmental innovations across the state.

Speaking at a programme to celebrate the initiation of new members, the President of the club, Chief Tunde Fanimokun, said the new law would prevent Yoruba language from going into extinction.

Fanimokun said, “It is a good development and we like to commend the House of Assembly for passing the Bill, as well as the governor for signing it into law.

“As a member of our club, we are proud of the achievements of Governor Ambode in office.  Eko Club was basically established for the progress of the state and our people.
