Gov Bello’s alleged double registration still pending —INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that the issuance of transferred temporary voter’s card to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, last week has not affected the criminal case of double registration against him.

This was made known on Thursday by the Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, James Apam, during an interactive session with journalists in Lokoja

He said the pending issue of double registration against the governor was still pending and had not taken away his right of transfer of his registration details.

Recall that the commission had, last year, accused Bello of double registration, and said he would have been prosecuted but for his immunity.

However, three INEC staff were indicted, as two officials were dismissed, while an Assistant Director was suspended.
