Youths protest as vehicle kills one in Ondo

Some youths in the College Road area of Ondo town, Ondo State, on Monday took to the streets to protest against the death of a yet-to-be identified man who was killed by a vehicle on the Ondo-Ore Expressway.

According to a witness, the vehicle swerved off the road and hit four people at the Catholic Junction end of the road.

While one person died on the spot, the other three victims were rushed to a hospital.

The witness said the incident sparked off the protest, leading to the barricade of the expressway by the youths. They also set bonfires on some parts of the road.

The vehicle that killed the victim was reportedly set ablaze by the protesters.

They asked the Federal Government to erect speed breakers on the expressway to reduce the recklessness of motorists.

The protest was said to have caused a traffic jam on the expressway for several hours, making motorists…
