Two die in soldiers, robbers’ shootout in Kaduna – Punch Newspapers

Some soldiers deployed in Dogon Dawa and Damari Road in Kaduna State have engaged in a shootout with suspected armed robbers in the area, during which two robbers were shot dead.

Our correspondent learnt that after the Dogon Dawa incident, some robbers along Rigasa-Airport Road, however, ambushed some of the soldiers and injured two of them in a gun battle.

It was gathered that the soldiers on patrol were part of the troops deployed in the area for Exercise Ayem Akpatuma.

According to the army, the soldiers recovered two AK-47 rifles, three magazines and 88 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Our correspondent was told that along the Rigasa-Airport Road, the troops ran into the ambush by the robbers, during which there was a fierce shootout.
