Ogun, groups empower 1,000 rural women – Punch Newspapers

the Ogun State government in partnership with Natnud Foods and British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation has empowered 1,000 rural women with 10,000 broilers for poultry farming.

This step, they said, was to ensure food security, create female entrepreneurs and improve the living standards of the rural women.

The event attended by women from the various local governments in the state was at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

The State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, said the government engaged in such partnership in order to build the self esteem of women in the rural areas and make them economically independent.

She said, “This initiative will go a long way in improving the standard of living of the 1,000 beneficiaries. We will continue to bring in private investors to collaborate with us in the area of agriculture so as to further develop the state.”
