Lagos cab driver in court over missing $3,600 – Punch Newspapers

The police in Lagos have brought a cab driver, Olajide Stephen, before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba after a sum of $3,600 (about N1.2m) belonging to his passenger got missing.

The police arraigned Stephen on three counts to which he pleaded not guilty.

PUNCH Metro learnt that one Mrs. Olamide Musa had hired the 39-year-old driver to take her and her husband to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on June 18, 2017, where the husband would board a flight to the United Kingdom.

It was gathered that about 20 minutes after the couple disembarked from the vehicle near the departure hall and Stephen had driven off, they realised the money was missing.

Musa claimed that he called Stephen on the telephone, asking him about the money, which the latter said he did not find.
