Man steals army uniform in barracks – Punch Newspapers

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Abayomi Akanji in the Adatan area of Abeokuta, the state capital, for allegedly impersonating a soldier.

The suspect was apprehended along with two accomplices – Adebayo Oladimeji and Lawal Akinmoye.

Akanji was said to have stolen the uniform from an army barracks and used it to terrorise residents of the community.

He reportedly used it during the period of the fuel scarcity to harass people and create panic.

Luck, however, ran out on him on April 17, 2018, when operatives from the Adatan Police Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Olajide Joshua, were on a routine patrol

They were said to have accosted him and while he was being questioned, he owned up to being a fake soldier.
