None of the presidential aspirants from the northern part of Nigeria, including President Muhammadu Buhari, has consulted or sought the blessing of the foremost northern socio-political organisation, the Arewa Consultative Forum, barely 10 months to the 2019 presidential election.
The National Publicity Secretary of the ACF, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim-Biu, who stated this in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH on Friday in Kaduna, promised that the group would continue to encourage northerners to pursue their political interests.
Buhari; former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; four former governors, Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna); Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano); his successor, Rabiu Kwankwanso; and Alhaji Sule Lamido (Jigawa) had all indicated interests to vie for the nation’s topmost job in 2019.
