The Peoples Democratic Party has commended Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, for “standing firm by people of the state and refusing to mortgage their welfare.”
The party made the commendation in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday as it welcomed the governor “back to the party.”
Ortom formally announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress to PDP on Wednesday in Makurdi.
In the statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP urged all its members in the APC to return “back home” to join it in salvaging the nation.
“The PDP hails Gov. Ortom for showing patriotic courage and boldness in these times of brazen dictatorship.”
The party raised concern about Nigerians that were being killed in Benue, Taraba, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara and Sokoto nearly on daily basis.
