I have a different opinion about the SARS reform because I believe that every policeman in the command should be under the Commissioner of Police of that command.
To have any contingent of policemen outside the control of the CP is to create room for misbehaviour.
When I was in Ilorin, I had all SARS officers and men under my control for effective coordination. If the head of the SARS is in Abuja and the men are stationed in Ilorin and they are engaging in acts of gross misconduct, is it the Commissioner in Abuja or his counterpart in Ilorin who is better placed to curtail their excesses?
