FRSC, Guinness advise truck owners on safety – Punch Newspapers

AS part of efforts to address road crashes, the Federal Road Safety Corps has called on truck owners and fleet operators to carry out adequate routine checks on their drivers and vehicles before deployment.

 The Edo State Sector Commander, Mr Anthony Oko, stated this at a training organised for 600 truck drivers by Guinness Nigeria Plc, during its transport and safety week.

 Oko, who was represented by the sector’s Head of Operations, Emea Orji, noted that the attitude of some truck drivers to safety on the highways had continued to be a major challenge for the agency.

He also urged drivers to create time to assess their state of health, including eye tests to prevent accidents.
