Niger housewife held for killing stepdaughter with insecticide – Punch Newspapers

A 20-year-old housewife, Zulac Kabiru, has been arrested by the police in Niger State for allegedly killing her eight-month-old stepdaughter at Danauta village in the Mariga Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was said to have secretly given a locally-made insecticide popularly known as ‘ota piapia’ to the baby of her co-wife, Rukaiya Kabiru, to drink.

It was learnt that the incident happened on September 9, 2018.

Northern City News gathered that before the incident, Zulac and Rukaiya had been having a disagreement which they found difficult to resolve.

It was learnt  that their husband, Kabiru Labbo, alerted the police operatives in Bangi Division to the development, prompting the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect told our correspondent that since her husband married her co-wife, there had been trouble in the family on a daily basis.
