Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Alliance for New Nigerian (ANN), Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has promised his party will turn Nigeria to a trillion dollar economy if voted into office in 2019.
“The economy can witness a great turn around in 10 years with careful planning and implementation of a New Economic Development Programme (NEDP). ANN will grow Nigeria’s GDP from the present $510 billion to $4 trillion in 10 years,” he promised.
Olawepo-Hashim disclosed this, yesterday, when he picked the ANN presidential nomination form; where he also said his party will return Nigeria’s economy to the path of prosperity, regretting that Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which peaked at $568 billion in 2014, the highest in Africa, suddenly took a plunge and sent the country into recession in 2016, even as the economy has been experiencing slowdown in growth since the beginning of the year.
