Our democracy has suffered a great blow, says Gov. Ishaku – The Sun Nigeria

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State has described the death of former chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, as a major loss to to the nation’s nascent democracy.

In a press statement issued, in Jalingo, on Monday, and signed by Mr  Bala Dan Abu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Governor Ishaku described Anenih as one of the key players that gave the present democratic dispensation the footing it needed to sustain.

Governor Ishaku, who expressed sympathy with the family of Tony Anenih, the government of Edo State and the PDP in general on the death of the former chairman of the PDP BoT, recalled Anenih’s strategic role in the effort to provide a political direction for the present democratic dispensation in the country as a founding member of the PDP, and described his passing as a big loss to the country.
