The Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSICA) Sa’ad Abubakar 111 has admonished the Nigerian government to speedily put up machinery that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of those behind killings across the country.
Sultan who, spoke while addressing resident communities, heads of security agencies, religious leaders and journalists during a Ramadan breakfast dinner held at his palace, added that, the age long crises between Fulanis and farmers is known to all as a purely economic one but has been hijacked by some criminal elements lately.
While advising that those killing innocent people, especially in the Middle Belt region were criminals who should be arrested and punished, Sultan however warned against arresting killing innocent Fulanis.
