6 Billion ‎Government, Private Sector Individuals Are Corrupt Globally

Transparency International, a global coalition against corruption, has revealed that more than 6 billion ‎people live in context of highly corrupt government and highly corrupt private sector globally.

The Chairperson, Transparency International, Delia Matilda Ferreira Rubio, stated this in Abuja at the Agenda for High level workshop to share international Anti-corruption best practices to address emerging issues in collaboration with the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC).

The workshop was themed: “Preventing the facilitation of corruption in public and private sector leveraging on International frameworks to promote sustainable development “.

Rubio lamented that corruption means less education, less development, less infrastructure and less opportunities for citizens adding that corruption must be stopped to put a stop to stolen assets.
