Edo State Government says it is in the process of finalizing arrangement to set up an Environmental Protection Agency to address the deliberate act of some persons whose aim is to sabotage government effort at having a clean environment.
The Permanent Secretary of the State’s ministry of Environment, Mr Brai Emoedume, made this disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen men in Benin on Sunday.
He said the move became necessary following the deliberate intention of these persons to ensure that the issue of flooding which the government is seriously addressing persist.
He also warned those who indiscriminately dump refuse and other items on undesignated points and those that had form the habit of dropping items such as empty cans of bottle water, empty sachet water, among others items, to have an attitudinal change.
