The Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria has congratulated African Countries for their ‘National Day.’
A statement from the embassy reads in part: “On 25 May 1963, Africa made history with the founding of the Organization of African Unity, which in 2002, changed to African Union.
“This development has brought the Continent together. Since then, Africa Day has been celebrated widely across the world to signify Africa’s identity, unity, independence and freedom.”
The statement further praised African countries for their determined efforts to attain economic freedom and free themselves from foreign domination:
“Today, the continental organization celebrates 55 years of determined efforts for unity among the African people, and socioeconomic freedom from foreign dominion and exploitation.”
The African Union Assembly had declared 2018 as the African Anti-Corruption Year with the theme:
