Sunday 17thJune 2018 marked forty days since the passing of Khalifa Sheikh Isiyaku Rabiu at the delicate age 93. The fortieth day after death during which The Qur’an is recited and people gather to offer condolences. It is a day, which concludes the 40thday memorial period and has a major significance.
The day that Khalifa died was a day when those who knew him will never forget for the rest of our lives. Khalifa’s breathren, millions of struggling masses, peasants, toilers and those who followed his sermons and lessons have come to revere his wonderful heart and gentle soul. He endeared himself to the public wherever he went and he stood for peace. He was a torchbearer of knowledge, sustenance of life and comfort to every one of the excluded, subjugated youth and homeless families that had the grace of coming across him.
Khalifa Sheikh Isiyaku Rabiu was born in 1928 to a renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Muhammadu Rabiu and Hajiya Fadimatu at Jingau Quarters in the ancent city…
