NASS To Pass Whistleblowers Protection Bill Soon – Reps — Leadership Newspaper

Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes, Hon Kayode Oladele, has disclosed that the current National Assembly would ensure the passage of the Whistleblowers Protection Bill, before the end of its tenure.
Speaking at a technical support workshop on “Whistleblowing for Implementing and Revenue Generating Agencies”, organised by African Centre for Media and Information Literacy (AFRICMIL), in Abuja yesterday, Oladele noted that the whistle blowing policy as it is practised today does not give protection to whistle blowers, who supply information on corruption.
He maintained that properties worth billions of naira, as well as cash are being hidden here and there, adding that what Nigerians need are protection and a legal framework to disclose such information necessary for the recovery of such properties.
