Fresh Fights Break Out As Counting, Voting Continues — Leadership Newspaper

Fresh fight broke out early Sunday morning at the Delta stand where voting was still in full force.

This is as voting and the counting of votes are going on in different parvilions within the Eagle Square in the final push to elect party leaders at all levels.

Chairs, tables and sticks were seen flying in different directions as argument broke out at the stand.

LEADERSHIP observed a man who was seriously beaten and wounded being dragged out of the arena by security agents.

The reason for the pandemonium was not readily ascertained but it was gathered that it may not be unconnected to the tightly contested seat of the National Organizing Secretary in which the current occupant, Sen. Osita Izunaso and the Imo State governor, Rochas Okoroacha are interested parties.

President Muhammadu Buhari is however expected to arrive this morning where winners will be announced.
