In a bid to save lives and contribute greatly to the healthcare of Nigerians, the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) in collaboration with Trauma Care International Foundation has organised a national blood donor registration across the country, aimed at bridging the ever-increasing gap between the demand and supply of blood in Nigeria.

The Coordinator, Trauma Care Foundation, Abuja Chris Otabor while briefing newsmen today during the campaign for registration of voluntary blood donors, said the objective of campaign was to get minimum of 10, 000 persons that would register and regularly donate safe and quality blood voluntarily, for use in hospitals.

He noted that the registration which will take place in four different centres in Abuja tomorrow will hold at NBTS Headquarters Wuse, Alliance Hospital Garki, Karu, and Kubwa respectively.

Otabor who is also the Managing Director, Alliance Hospital Abuja, said the aim is to meet up with the 1.8 million units of blood required…
