The APC and the PDP in Bayelsa State have started trading tackles ahead of the 2019/2020 elections in the State. Osa Okhomina examines the banter exchange over the ongoing Civil Service Reform, opposition dust and possible effects ahead of general elections.

Unlike past reforms in the Civil Service, initiated by the administrations of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Chief Timipre Sylva, the Governor Dickson’s reform is blazing new trails and recording successes that have baffled the opposition parties in the state.

Aside from weeding out over 1,500 fake certificate fraudsters,  reducing the Local Government Council wage bill from  N120million naira to N80million naira, the reform has reduced the State work force from 55,000 to 27,000 and dismantling the cartel involved in wage bill fraud in the state.
