Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has declared that ex-governor and senator, Bukar Abba Ibrahim’s book, Poorlitics “came at the right time.”
Saraki, who spoke at the book’s launch on Monday, said the book’s publication, not only coincides with the imminent 2019 elections, but arrives after the government’s recent signing into law of ‘the not too young to run bill.’
Stressing the importance of electorates and the need for the elected to value same people whom they represent, Saraki noted, “Politics is not always about money, but about time.”

“It is about time when people in authority descend to relate with the people they serve, to listen to their problems and engage them. There are politicians who have never related with the people they represent. We are here to support (Bukar’s) philosophy, which states that politics takes much more than money. The book will not only help politicians of today but of the future,” concluded Saraki.
