A Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Igbosere yesterday remanded four men in prison for allegedly stealing N1 billion from the accounts of some customers of First City Monument Bank (FCMB).

The presiding magistrate, Mrs Folashade Botoku, gave the order after the accused persons, Gideo Olatimeyin, Osita Martyns, Daramola Samuel Akanji and Abiodun Aina were arraigned before her by the police on a six-count charge of stealing.

The police accused them of conspiracy, stealing and effecting unauthorised modification of bank’s computer data by increasing the transaction limit.

The offence, according to the prosecution, is punishable under section 287(9)(c), 390,411 and 388 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State,2015.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to all the count.
