Lagos Community Seeks EFCC’s Intervention Over Prepaid Meter Scam — Leadership Newspaper

Residents of a Lagos community, Green field Estate Community Development Association (CDA),located along Ago Palace Way ,Okota ,Lagos have called on the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to investigate the leadership of the estate as well as the management of Ikeja Electric Distribution Company(IKEDC) over the non-supply of pre-paid meters which they had paid for a long time ago.

The residents alleged, that sometime in the month of August ,one Paul Okeke, the IKEDC service manager for Ago Service Unit in conjunction with the leadership of the estate approached the residents and told them, that instead of waiting for  eternity for  free pre-paid meters ,they should pay and get them instantly.

According to the residents, they were asked to pay N35, 000 for double phase pre-paid and N25, 000 for the single phase meters. Out of desperation to exit from estimated billing system, they all agreed to pay.
