Nigeria and Botswana have signed agreements on cultural cooperation and diplomatic relations. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs , Geoffrey Onyeama after the 4th session of Nigeria-Botswana Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (BNJPCC). The minister explained that “The signing of the agreements on the JPCC signals our collective desire to promote our political, economic, cultural, social, educational and scientific relations among others .” According to him, “It also marks the beginning of a strategic cooperation and partnership to boost economic growth and create employment opportunities thus, making enormous contribution as it concerns poverty alleviation and underdevelopment in our countries.” Onyeama stated that Nigeria attaches great importance to relations with the Republic of Botswana, hence, the outcome of the meeting further confirms the tie between them.
